TripAdvisor has released travel trends for 2013 and the results are quite interesting.
Most Reviewed City: London
England’s capital had nearly a half-million reviews, topping the list. Rome, Paris, New York City and Las Vegas rounded out the Top Five. Your Tipsy-Turvy Traveler was part of this trend. I visited London a couple of times this year and wrote this story about following in the literary footsteps of England’s great writers.
Most helpful reviewers: Belgians.
I did not see this coming, but Belgian reviewers who posted on the TripAdvisor site averaged more than two thumbs ups per review. The rest of the Top Five were Ukraine, Turkey, Vietnam and Canada.
Most contributions: United States
Yep, we chatty Americans were the biggest contributors to the site with the United Kingdom a fairly distant second followed by Italy, Canada and Brazil. But, we didn’t have the most to say, that would be Singapore, which had the longest reviews followed by the Philippines, United Kingdom, Switzerland and China.
Most Photos: Japan
Japanese reviewers posted an average of 12.5 photos per review, followed by Singapore (11), Malaysia (10.3), the Philippines (9.8) and China (9.7).
